Our Mission
A skilled an d experienced team of cardiologists, mid-level providers, nurses and technologists at Abington Medical Specialists provide the highest level of care to heart patients. These specialty physicians are trained in many of the latest and most unique approaches to cardiac diagnosis and treatment.
The expert staff performs a comprehensive array of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing for both inpatients and outpatients at Abington Memorial Hospital's Pilla Heart Center.

Electrocardiography
Electrocardiograms check heart rhythms by measuring and recording the electrical activity in the heart. These non-invasive tests are usually performed during routine office visits.
Pacemaker / Defibrillator evaluation

Cardiac catheterization / Angioplasty
Performed in one of Abington Memorial Hospital's five cardiac catheterization laboratories, this procedure involves passing a catheter (a thin flexible tube) into the heart to obtain diagnostic information and/or to provide treatment in many types of heart conditions.
Peripheral vascular
Decreased blood flow to the arms and legs is evaluated through both non-invasive and invasive techniques. Frequently, catheter-based intervention can be performed, thereby replacing the need for surgery.
